Marking a significant milestone, Fox Robotics, a manufacturer of autonomous forklift technology, has inked a multi-year program agreement with Walmart. This landmark collaboration, which follows a successful 16-month proof of concept, kicks off with the deployment of 19 additional FoxBot autonomous forklifts across four Walmart distribution centers. FoxBot Autonomous Forklifts
The FoxBot is a tri-wheeled electric forklift that works autonomously. The forklift operates using “deep learning-powered vision” with the help of LiDAR sensors, mounted cameras, and software. Central to the FoxBot is a proprietary AI and machine learning system, enabling the robot to make dynamic decisions. From identifying pallet locations to ensuring precise load handling, the FoxBot operates efficiently and carefully, reducing the risk of product damage associated with manual forklift operations.
Fox Robotics has designed the FoxBot to keep operations going around the clock. Currently, the forklift can pick blocks and whitewood pallets, identify pallet load patterns, and handle common picking concerns, such as if a pallet is wrapped in plastic, double-stacked, or damaged.
